Jackie Robinson was born in Cario Georgia in 1919. He signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1945. Jackie Robinson became the first African American to play baseball. In 1947 precedent was shattered when Robinson was brought up to the Brooklyn club. His parents were Jerry and Mallie Robinson.
